ComStar, the institution and religion, grew out of the Star League Department of Communications, as re-envisioned by Jerome Blake, Minister of Communications. ComStar is transnational, beholden to none of the Successor States, and its priesthood exclusively controls access to the only means of faster-than-light communications, the HyperPulse Generators. ComStar facilities and personnel are sacrosanct, a status enforced aggressively by the institution; offending states—even entire Successor States—can find themselves cut off from the rest of the Inner Sphere, unable to communicate or trade. The current head of ComStar is Primus Sharilar Mori.

2nd Army V-Mu

2nd Army V-Mu Unit Rating: Elite

The 2nd Army V-Mu is among the most elite armies in the ComGuard and is rumored to employ only the best equipment available to the ComGuard. The 2nd Army is incredibly dangerous and commands respect even from ComStar's opponents.

11th Army V-Eta

11th Army V-Eta Unit Rating: Regular

The 11th Army V-Eta, originally stationed in Lyran space, has suffered Lyran pettiness and spite for nearly seven years at this point, with the LCAF directly and indirectly interfering with the 11th Army's operations whenever possible. Despite this petty behavior though, the 11th remains a potent fighting force, well the match for any who test their mettle.

7th Army V-Iota

7th Army V-Iota Unit Rating: Garrison

The 7th Army V-Iota is an army under siege, though not from external foes. Instead, the 7th Army has been hard hit from internal fractures and frictions for years now. First the Word of Blake schism tore much of the heart out of the army and then various internal conflicts and unit and personnel transfers have badly affected the army's functionality. Still, it struggles onwards, and even with all the troubles remains an effective fighting force, though not the best the ComGuard have to offer.
