Description
One of the earliest BattleMechs, the Kyudo was built by Martinson Armaments in 2443 for the Terran Hegemony. Armed with a simple Large Laser and LRM-10, the Kyudo was simple, easy to maintain, and rugged, leading to its popularity with both troops and techs. However, the design used primitive components (the best available at the time, of course), and so eventually fell out of service when newer, more advanced, BattleMech designs came along. The Kyudo languished in backwater Periphery militias for centuries, finally being rendered mostly extinct by the Clan Invasion.

Description
One of the earliest BattleMechs, the Kyudo was built by Martinson Armaments in 2443 for the Terran Hegemony but was eventually lost to the Succession Wars. However, in the 3040s, Irian Technologies resurrected the design as a cheap line BattleMech for House Marik with the KY2-D-01A. Armed with a Large Laser, Small Laser, and LRM-10 and using all basic technologies, the -01A proved a cheap and durable design that gave the reborn Kyudo a sterling reputation in both the Free Worlds League and the Federated Suns (where it was produced under license from Irian).

Description
One of the earliest BattleMechs, the Kyudo was built by Martinson Armaments in 2443 for the Terran Hegemony and later upgraded to the modern KY2-D-02 standard. Armed with an ER Large Laser and LRM-20 (enhanced with Artemis IV), the Kyudo was posed to be a premier line combat 'Mech for the SLDF, but unfortunately budget limitations meant that few Kyudos were properly updated to the new standard and the design was largely lost with the Star League's fall. However, in the 3050s, the reborn Terran Hegemony resurrected the design and put it into proper service, where the Kyudo proved its great worth time and again.

Description
One of the earliest BattleMechs, the Kyudo was resurrected by the reborn Terran Hegemony in the 3050s and given an updated variant in the 3060s after the KY2-D-02 proved its value to the THAF brass. Dubbed the KY2-D-02X, this upgraded variant made use of some cutting edge technologies, such as Endo-Composite structure and a Large X-Pulse Laser (as well as an ER Medium Laser and Artemis IV-enabled MML-9) to produce one of the most advanced and capable medium-weight mechs in service to a Great House. The KY2-D-02X proved popular and effective and was quickly pushed into wider production.
