Description

A strange twist on the Kintaro's primary mission, the KTO-17 is a rare long-range support variant of the mech from the Star League era. Built with Endo-Steel structure and Ferro-Fibrous armor for weight savings, the -17's primary weapon systems are a pair of Large Lasers. Backing them up are 15 tubes worth of LRMs, though split oddly into a 10 tube and a 5 tube launcher. A standard 275 rated fusion engine drives the mech at expected Kintaro speeds while 11 Double Heat Sinks keep the mech ice cold.

Description

The Kintaro-19 is the Star League original model Kintaro. Used mostly as a spotting machine for the Star League's massive LRM battalions, the Kintaro-19 was designed to carry a Narc Beacon and its loadout reflects it.

The Kintaro-19b was created for the Star League's Royal regiments. While it carries the Kintaro's trademark Narc Beacon, the -19b upgrades the engine to an XL in order to increase the LRM-5 to a LRM-15, making the -19b a far more formidable opponent.

Description

Designed by Clan Cloud Cobra during the Clan's Golden Century, the Naja is a twist on the old SLDF Kintaro. Made with some Clan weaponry but still using a core of Inner Sphere-spec technology, the Naja proved able enough to earn a place in the Cobra touman but not enough of one to endure long-term. A Clan LRM-20 provides range while Clan SRM-4s and Improved SRM-6s give up-close punch. Some Inner Sphere Medium and Small Lasers round out the weapons. IS-spec Double Heat Sinks keep it all chilled. The Naja would later be relegated to garrison forces as technology left it behind.

Description

Designed by a Free Worlds League general who was, according to his political rivals, deep in the pocket of Big SRM, the KTO-19s is a tech demonstration for the rediscovered Streak SRM-2 launcher. Carrying a whopping five Streak SRM-2s, the KTO-19s has a bevy of SRMs for any opponent. For more consistent backup weapons, the -19s has a Large Laser, a Medium Laser, and an AMS for defensive support. Needless to say, the -19s was a massive failure and was quietly sold off to the mercenary market without fanfare.

Description

The KTO-20, used to good effect in the War of 3039, was the slightly downgraded version of the KTO-19 given to the Draconis Combine by ComStar as part of Operation Rosebud. The KTO-20 was nearly identical to its Star League era cousin, the only real difference being the loss of the Narc Missile beacon in exchange for a Large Laser. It was equipped with double heat sinks.

Description

Developed by both ComStar and the Word of Blake, the KTO-21 was the first 'Mech to utilize both the Narc Missile Beacon and the improved C3 computer system. In order to utilize these new systems, the KTO-21 was refitted with an Endo Steel chassis. Retaining only the two SRM launchers, the LRM launcher was dropped and the standard medium lasers were upgraded to more advanced ER Medium Lasers, enhanced by a switch to Double Heat Sinks.

A minor variant of the KTO-20, the KTO-C was one of the Combine's C3 test beds. It simply removed a Medium Laser from the arm in exchange for the C3 slave unit. Otherwise, it is a KTO-20.

Description

The Kintaro Hero 'Mech, the "Golden Boy" mounts an 220 rated XL Engine, near maximum armor and ten Double Heat Sinks to support a weapons array consisting of two SRM-4 launchers in its center torso, an SRM-6 launcher in its right torso and left arm, all of which are supplied with four tons of ammo. As back up the Golden Boy has a trio of Medium Pulse Lasers, one mounted in the left arm and two in the right.

Description

An upgrade to the KTO-C, the KTO-K removed the Large Laser and LRM launcher to upgrade the short-range missiles to Streak SRM-6s. The lasers were upgraded to ER Medium Lasers and a third was added. The most significant difference was the addition of Jump jets to allow the unit to leap up to 150 meters.
