Description
The ExcavatorMech is an industrial digging machine, meant for digging out huge masses of earth for construction projects. The EXV-1X is a very basic refit with some cheap backwater weaponry to let the mech be used for combat if necessary. Generally though the EXV-1X is not a combat-rated machine, as even though 40 Rocket Launcher tubes and a Medium Rifle pack a punch the mech cannot easily withstand return fire and will crumble to any sustained combat design.

Description
The ExcavatorMech-4B (standing for backline) is an attempt at periphery commanders and militia to make use of any available resources, while also reducing the inherent issues the comes with repurposing civilian machinery. In an effort to reduce the risk of putting an ExcavatorMech in direct combat, it was fitted with twin Mortar-4's and a single LRM-5 as well as a single Machine Gun for self defense. The armor was also replaced with Heavy PLating Armor, in the hopes that if something did manage to get close enough, it could survive long enough for support to move in. Of course, the Backhoe remains in place to ensure the ExcavatorMech can defend itself at close range.

Description
A jumped-up industrial mech turned combat chassis, the ExcavatorMech EXV-4K carries the Excavator's traditional Backhoe, reinforced for melee use, as well as a basic but effective loadout of simple weapons meant for no-frills combat. Armed with a Light Autocannon/5, a Medium Chemical Laser, and a 5-tubed Multi-Missile Launcher, the EXV-4K brings moderate fire support to any situation. Up close, the Backhoe makes quick work of enemies. The Excavator's traditionally thick armor provides ample protection.

Description
A jumped-up industrial mech turned combat chassis, the ExcavatorMech EXV-4PA carries the Excavator's traditional Backhoe, reinforced for melee use, as well as a basic but effective loadout of simple weapons meant for no-frills combat. Armed with a trio of Light Cannons, the -4PA can delete just about anything its own size or smaller. After the Cannons are used though, all it can call on is an Improved Medium Binary Laser and a Small Laser, though at point-blank the Backhoe makes quick work of enemies. The Excavator's traditionally thick armor provides ample protection.

A jumped-up industrial mech turned combat chassis, the ExcavatorMech EXV-5K carries the Excavator's traditional Backhoe, reinforced for melee use, as well as a basic but effective loadout of simple weapons. 20 Medium-Range Missile tubes provide primary firepower. A Large Laser plays second fiddle but does it effectively. 14 single heat sinks keep it all generally pretty cool. The Backhoe and Digger Claw remain and are as effective as always.

Description
A rare excursion from the standard fare of the ExcavatorMech, the EXV-8T was an attempt to bring budget artillery support to the back of beyond. However, it was only partially successful in that it required a Light Fusion Engine be installed for weight savings. Still, it's a Thumper Artillery Piece on a relative budget. Twin Medium Lasers give a little support to the Thumper at close-range though really the mech leans on having close-range support mechs for defense.
