Description
The Ostscout was designed as a pure recon BattleMech by Ostmann Industries. To that end, it was built entirely around gathering data and getting out of trouble, tasks for which it is exceptional. The realities of this mission meant that it lacked in offensive capability, with most Ostscouts having little in the way of weaponry. While the sensor suite is second-to-none and of incredible quality, the weapons on the mech are limited, at best. A single Tronel-brand Medium Laser is all the defense the mech has. Thankfully, with the same speed and maneuverability as a Spider, the Ostscout can escape from anything that might threaten it.

The OTT-7K takes things to the ultimate extreme: it has zero offensive capability whatsoever. Instead, the -7K carries a TAG designator so that it can provide increased targeting capability to allied units.

Description
The 9CS model is a complete upgrade of the venerable Ostscout, developed by ComStar and introduced in 3064. The 'Mech has been rebuilt from the ground up with an Endo Steel structure. The design uses a 280 extralight engine to free up weight for electronics and weaponry. The targeting-tracking system was mated to a Beagle Active Probe, Guardian ECM, and head-mounted TAG, while the comm system was upgraded with a C3i Computer for better fire mission coordination. For self-defense, the 9CS model carries two ER Medium Lasers in either arm and an ER Small Laser in its center torso. Finally six tons of armor provides superior protection from weapons fire.

Description
The Ostscout was designed as a pure recon BattleMech by Ostmann Industries. To that end, it was built entirely around gathering data and getting out of trouble, tasks for which it is exceptional. The -9S model is a rebuild of the Ostscout. This model uses an Endo Steel chassis, as well as Ferro-Fibrous armor. For protection, the 'Mech carries two ER Medium Lasers and two Anti-Personnel Pods to discourage infantry attacks. The electronics carried by this 'Mech include a Beagle Active Probe, Guardian ECM suite, and a TAG laser designator.

Description
The MechWarrior who came up with this design's nomenclature did so one night at the bar after their match, completely hammered, trying to remember the name of the Osprey BattleMech. In their stupor, they slurred 'Ostprey' and their companions, finding it hilarious, christened their mech the same. The Ostprey is a customized Ostscout, armed with a battery of high-tech lasers. Using an XXL Engine for power, the Ostprey is armed with a pair of Clan-spec Heavy Medium Lasers and a trio of experimental Rotary ER Small Lasers.
