Description
One of the reconnaissance mainstays of the SLDF, the Firefly was not as fast as its contemporaries but was often much more heavily armed. Unfortunately this lack of speed contributed to its downfall and the Firefly was thought extinct until the Wolf's Dragoons began using them in their forces. The FFL-3A is the original Firefly that served with the SLDF, and remains the rarest, with only a handful in ComGuard units. It is armed with three Medium Lasers, four Small Lasers, a TAG unit and an LRM-5 rack with two tons of ammunition in CASE'd bins. Somewhat mystifyingly however, the -3A is underweight at 29.5 tons.

The FFL-3SLE is a rare variant created by the Star League-in-Exile after their settlement in the Pentagon Cluster. It is identical to the FFL-3A except that it replaces the TAG with a Guardian ECM (incidentally using the -3A's missing half ton of weight).

Unfortunately this lack of speed contributed to its downfall and the Firefly was thought extinct until the Wolf's Dragoons began using them in their forces. The FFL-3PP is a refit of the -3SLE (which was itself a refit of the original -3A) that was used by the Pentagon Powers after the Star League-in-Exile collapsed. The -3PP removes the -3SLE's Guardian ECM as well as the LRM-5, ammo, and CASE in order to upgrade to a LRM-10 with a ton of ammo.

Unfortunately this lack of speed contributed to its downfall and the Firefly was thought extinct until the Wolf's Dragoons began using them in their forces. The FFL-4A is the first model of the 'Mech that served in the Wolf's Dragoons, confounding many intelligence services in the Inner Sphere by its appearance until the truth of the Dragoons came out. This variant is armed with three Medium Lasers, four Small Lasers, and an LRM-5 with a single ton of ammunition.

The FFL-4B makes an attempt at upgrading the -4A model by replacing all three Small Lasers with an AMS to give the Firefly greater protection on an increasingly unfriendly battlefield. Another change is the CASE protecting both the AMS and LRM ammunition.

An upgrade of Fireflies in ComStar's inventory, the -4C radically alters the basic Firefly by replacing the engine and skeleton with an XL model and Endo-Steel respectively, as well as installing Double Heat Sinks. The -4C emulates the -4B by replacing the Small Lasers with an AMS and CASE, but also upgrades all three Medium Lasers to Pulse models and installs Artemis IV for the LRM rack.

Unfortunately this lack of speed contributed to its downfall and the Firefly was thought extinct until the Wolf's Dragoons began using them in their forces. A comparatively new variant that appeared with the Dragoons in the 3060s, the 4D saves weight through the use of a light engine, endo steel, and ferro-fibrous armor. Like the 4C, this variant adds an Artemis IV FCS to the LRM-5, but also upgrades the lasers to ER medium lasers. Due to space constraints, the 4D uses 12 single heat sinks that are sorely taxed.

Reported rarely in the hands of Clan forces, the Firefly C eschews the XL engine of more advanced Clan BattleMechs but does use an Endo-Steel skeleton. The -C is used as a brawler, armed with three Medium Pulse Lasers, four ER Small Lasers, and an SRM-2.

Description
Developed for a sadistic Davion-aligned gladiator on Solaris VII, Tazerface is a brutal combatant, designed to shut down its targets and then surgically remove their components using its cutting-edge Piercing Small Pulse Lasers. The mech is built around an experimental Mech Taser, which has the capability to simply shut down a mech in a single shot. Once disabled, the enemy is easy prey for Tazerface's battery of pulse lasers. A sole ER Medium Laser is the lone concession to ranged combat.
