Description
Released in an incomplete state to quickly fulfill an SLDF contract, the original Hermes eventually found a grudging place in militia forces across the Inner Sphere where its issues weren't as crippling. With the return of advanced technology, the Hermes became viable in front line units as a fast, if lightly armored, scout once again. The -1A model is a Succession Wars downgrade of the original -1S that removes Endo-Steel and Ferro-Fibrous components for more easily sourced items, and as a result is much more fragile than its predecessor. It is armed with two Medium Lasers and a Flamer.

Designed for the SLDF Royal Divisions, the -1Sb version installs an XL engine to free up tonnage for MASC and a Beagle Active Probe. The installation of Double Heat Sinks offsets the heat from a Small Laser, four Medium Lasers and a Flamer. It is an exceptionally well armored and armed scout.

With the return of advanced technology, the Hermes became viable in front line units as a fast, if lightly armored, scout once again. The -3S model, introduced by Irian BattleMechs Unlimited in 3043, includes Endo-Steel and Ferro-Fibrous components to reduce tonnage, but sheds precious armor for a MASC system, increasing its ground speed. Armed with two Medium Lasers, the -3S is a fragile scout, but with the addition of a Beagle Active Probe, it is undeniably effective.

Designed similarly to the -4K export model, the -4M makes use of as much weight saving technology as possible, and arms itself with five ER Medium Lasers, supported by a C3i system and ECM. Its armor is still incredibly light, making it a specialist.

The -4S model represents a radical overhaul to the entire line, installing an XL Engine to radically increase its firepower and armor. Maintaining the MASC and ECM of earlier models, the -4S is armed with three Medium Pulse Lasers and nearly maximizes its armor, making it effective at harassment.
