It's not really an additional bank of capacitors for gauss weaponry, instead it's a complex assemblage of software and hardware tweaks that essentially overhaul the effectiveness of mounted gauss weaponry. When properly installed and online, the Gauss Capacitor provides an increase to damage and to range with gauss-class weaponry.
