Description
The Chameleon CLN-7V is a slightly modernized update of the original Chameleon. Still primarily intended as a training 'Mech, the -7V's updates make all of the lasers onboard replaceable, and drops one Small Laser and a half ton of Machine Gun ammunition to increase the 'Mech's armor. The modern Chameleon is still best used as a scout, rather than a line BattleMech.

Description
The Chameleon -7W is an updated model released by Mountain Wolf BattleMechs to make aging 'Mech more competitive on the modern battlefield. Trading the lighter weapons for thicker armor and a swap to Double Heat Sinks increases its endurance, while the Large Laser in the Right Arm has been upgraded to an extended range model, and the Medium Laser in the Left Arm was traded for a pulse laser.

Description
A specialist model, the Chameleon -7Z replaces its original standard engine with an XL model and replaces all of its weapons with a trio of Large Lasers, one of which is an ER model. Leftover tonnage was devoted to both heat sinks and armor, giving the -7Z as much longevity as possible.

Description
Once one of the most popular training 'Mechs in the Inner Sphere, the TRC-4B Chameleon has fallen by the wayside in recent years as its lack of advanced technology and several hardwired lasers make it less suitable for the modern battlefield. Seen mostly in militia and pirate hands today, the TRC-4B is still a fairly potent scout due to its reasonably hefty weaponry consisting of a Large Laser, two Medium Lasers, four Small Lasers and a pair of Machine Guns.
