| Details | The Torso Cockpit was an innovation, one that was noticed by mech designers across the Inner Sphere. However, for a certain kind of mind, the Torso Cockpit didn't go too far enough which led to the creation of the Side Mounted Cockpit, essentially a module that moves the cockpit and its life support systems into a side torso instead of the center torso or head locations of a BattleMech. The Side Mounted Cockpit doesn't provide quite as many benefits as the Torso Cockpit (such as protection) but remains an effective tool for pilots. |
