Event Details:
WARNING: SPOILERS
You have a message from Blaze. Apparently we've arrived in the system just in time for a race, and she needs to know whether to sign up:
Commander, if we're going to do this race, there are a few things you need to know. This one takes place in the polar region, so we have a few options. I can push hard and drive aggressively, but we'll want to make sure we don't lose traction. On the other hand, I can play it a bit safer and hope to make up the time in the straightaways. Like most of these races, there's also an optional "shortcut" route; looks like this one goes through a large geothermal field. Just let me know how you'd like to proceed, and I'll get things ready to go. Of course if we don't have time, I understand.
SERIOUSLY, MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. CLICK HERE FOR FULL BREAKDOWN OF EVENT OPTIONS
Option A - "Drive aggressively.":
By pushing the Ibex as hard as possible, Blaze was able to keep the operating temperature at near optimal levels, despite the sub-zero outside temperatures. Even allowing for time lost to a few skids in the ice, she was able to hold onto her lead and take a win.
Result:
- Morale increased by 1
- Company C-Bills increased by 100,000
- 1 race win added to season record
Option B - "Play it safe.":
Yang tried to tell you. Blaze tried to tell you. Hell, even the damn manual tried to tell you (but who reads those? That's like cheating.) You insisted you knew better, and told Blaze to drive cautiously to avoid losing control. Although she certainly didn't lose control, she certainly didn't win, especially after the manifold iced up. Good call, Commander.
Result:
- Morale decreased by 1
- Company C-Bills decreased by 100,000
- 1 race loss added to season record
Option C - "Take the shortcut.":
Although some vehicles would have had trouble coping with the extra heat of the geothermal field, the Ibex was born to run in a desert. Flying past the geysers at breakneck speed, Blaze made impressively good time, shredding the fresh powder as she flew across the finish line.
Result:
- Morale increased by 1
- Company C-Bills increased by 100,000
- 1 race win added to season record
Option D - "Hold off on racing for now.":
Blaze knows that contracts are more important than racing. Besides, there are plenty of other races to run.
Result:
- No change
Note: selecting this option does not lock you out of accepting the Ice Capades race event in the future.
