Details | This is a unique Sword-Shield, designed for the Excalibur. It cannot be removed or used elsewhere. Designed for the arenas of Solaris VII, BattleMech Shields are a mostly untested technology, though they're not terribly complex. Mountable only in the arms, a BattleMech Shield provides additional armor protection for the carrying mech as it uses the shield to soak incoming fire. The Sword-Shield is an unusual weapon in that it both provides physical protection to the arm of the Exaclibur but it also serves as a passable melee weapon in a pinch. |
