Description
In all honesty, Cicadas as a rule are very fragile. The 2A model was designed to be as fast as any light 'Mech, but that massive engine leaves little room for much else. Still, if you use it cautiously, it can be a successful scout and diversion.

Description
A new Periphery Armory, Inc design, the Cicada-2PA is a fast, evasive, and surprisingly powerful design. Armed with a simple triad of Large Chemical Lasers that are fed by two tons of ammunition, the CDA-2PA packs a heck of a whollop against unsuspecting enemies, making it a fantastic flanking mech. However, this comes at the cost of fragility, as the design is not well armored and has a very fragile Jury-Rigged XL engine for power.

Description
The -3F Cicada is one of the most advanced versions of this 'Mech and is a cross between the -2A and -3C variants. It carries a powerful ER PPC as its main weapon while still carrying the Medium Lasers of the -2A. To carry this weight and to make room for the massive number of Jump Jets the -3F carries it makes use of an XL engine.

Description
The 3M upgrade of this older BattleMech uses some of the best Star League technology available. It uses an extralight version of the same Pitban 320 engine, freeing up extra space to upgrade the small laser to a Small Pulse Laser and adding an Ultra Autocannon/5 to the left torso as well as carrying a pair of medium lasers while retaining the Cicada's classic extreme speed.

Description
A somewhat unusual design produced by Gibson Federated, this fire support variant is a favoured choice of many mercenary commands. Refitting a standard 2A with a smaller 280 rated XL Engine, Gibson Federated managed to mount a pair of Artemis IV enhanced LRM Launchers with 3 tons of ammunition. Should an enemy get close enough to return fire, the mech carries an advanced Guardian ECM suite and a full ton of additional armour, dramatically increasing it’s survival chances.

Description
A rare Marik upgrade of the Cicada, the -4G gives the old mech a new twist. Built around a XL engine, the -4G saves even more weight with Ferro-Fibrous armor and an Endo-Steel structure. It puts that weight towards a pair each of Streak SRM-6s and ER Medium Lasers. The remaining tonnage is spent on two tons of CASE'd ammo and some extra armor to protect the fragile XL engine.
