Jump Jets funnel superheated air to propel 'Mechs over obstacles in a controlled manner. Additionally, they may also be used to perform the dreaded 'Death from Above' attack. Improved Jump Jets (IJJ) are bulkier than standard jump jets, but allow more of them to be stacked onto a 'mech than normal jump jets, increasing your available jump distance to be roughly equivalent to the 'mech's sprint speed. Improved Jump Jets also produce much less heat than a normal jump jet.

Improved Jump Jet (S)

Standard IJJs are specially designed for use on 'Mechs up to 55 tons.

Prototype Jump Jets are specially designed for use on 'Mechs 60 to 85 tons. Currently only found as fixed gear (cannot be removed from the 'Mech) on the GRN-2N-X. VOLATILE: Explodes for 50 damage and 10 stability damage if crit.

Heavy Metal Jump Jet

Unique experimental Jump Jets found only on the Hero 'Mech Heavy Metal, Rhonda Snord's Highlander. Somehow, Snord found a way to create a special Improved Jump Jet that weighs half as much as standard Assault IJJs. The downside is that they're locked to Heavy Metal and can't be removed.
