Description

After a prospector discovered more than a thousand Hermes 100-rated fusion engines on the planet of June in the Davion Outback, Hanse Davion himself ordered them put into use on a new BattleMech chassis and the Mite was born. At 10 tons, the Hermes 100 is more than enough power to propel the Mite across any battlefield. Combined with the incredible Barret 4000 sensor suite (the same as the Ostscout), the Mite makes for an incredibly effective scout 'Mech. However, the scouting comes with a downside: the Mite is poorly armored and has almost no armament, merely a singular Small Laser.

Description

The Mite was designed to carry the Hermes 100-rated engine and so every Mite variant carries it. However, in the 3060s it was determined that the Mite was due for an experimental upgrade. The Hermes 100 was upgrade to an XL version, the frame was upgraded to a Composite structure, and the mech was clad in Heavy Ferro-Fibrous armor. The true experimental aspect though comes from the firepower, which consists of four rare and highly specialized Rotary ER Small Lasers. The Mite MTE-14X proved successful, if expensive, and was given to only the most prestigious units in the Federated Suns.

Description

The story of the Mite's creation involved a House Davion prospector finding a cache of a thousand Hermes 100-rated fusion engines and Hanse Davion ordering a mech built for them. What is less known is that said prospect, Julian Windstorm, was a MechWarrior himself and helped test and refine the Mite during its development. He named the testing Mite he worked on The Mighty Mite and went on to have a long and fruitful career at its controls. This Mite is not that one but bears the same name, possibly as a homage to Windstorm. This Mighty Mite is built on a 100-rated XL engine and has Endo-Steel and Heavy Ferro-Fibrous construction. A Small Cockpit helps give enough tonnage for the firepower, a pair of powerful Medium X-Pulse Lasers.
