Description

The Black Python is similar in many ways to the Warhammer and Marauder BattleMechs. Though it is faster than those heavies, it has a similar weapons load-out with comparable damage, albeit with much more accurate damage potential. This expensive second-line 'Mech avails itself of all weight saving technologies available, including an XL Engine, Endo Steel frame, and eleven tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. The paired Large and Lambda Medium Pulse Lasers provide highly accurate firepower at ranges that are possible to close in on thanks to the 'Mech's speed. Four Small Pulse Lasers and two Machine Guns provide more firepower at close range. All of the lasers are made even more accurate by the inclusion of a Targeting Computer. Fifteen double heat sinks keep heat levels in check.

Description

This variant removes the large and medium lasers and replaces them with an Ultra Autocannon/2, two ER Large Lasers, an additional Small Pulse Laser for a total of five, and an ECM Suite. The Machine Guns are retained, as is the Targeting Computer. This configuration allows the Black Python to provide effective direct-fire support.

Description

Armed entirely unlike normal Black Pythons, the BP-5 was made for a solahma warrior that needed a mech and parts were scarce. Armed with a simple loadout of twin UAC/10s and ER Medium Lasers, the BP-5 brings heavy firepower to any engagement thanks to its 80 kph speed and 5 jump jets. 10 double heat sinks keep the mech chilly and 5 tons of ammo ensure the guns are rarely silent. The mech turned out to be so effective that it entered general production as a real variant and the warrior won the right to a bloodname using his original mech.
