Description
Created at the insistence of the Khan of the Wolves himself, the Cephalus CEP-1 was a resurrection of the experimental Cephalus Prototype that ultimately failed. This variant, the CEP-1, was intended to bring the mech to a more focused battlefield role: light skirmisher. The fragile and expensive XXL was retained, as was the Active Probe and the IS-spec Angel ECM. The entire weapons load was replaced with 6 SRM-4s with two total tons of ammo. The CEP-1 would prove adept, if expensive to produce, and would be retained in the Wolf touman, though as a second-line design.

Description
Designed by Clan Wolf scientists to serve as a prototype electronics carrier, the Cephalus was only lightly deployed and eventually shelved entirely. Built around a fragile but light Composite structure and a rare and hot Clan XXL Engine, the Cephalus Prototype carries an Angel ECM system, an Active Probe, a TAG for spotting for allies, and a pair of AMS systems for allied protection. Its only nod to direct battlefield contribution is a single center-line ER Large Laser. The design was relegated to second-line forces due to limited ability to contribute to battles and the extreme cost of materials.
