Description
Designed by Clan Nova Cat in order to use excess Clan-grade materials, the Hellhound was produced entirely in the Inner Sphere using captured Spheroid factories, though the technology is firmly Clan-grade. The Hellhound is a fast and effective second-line trooper mech that the Falcons used to rebuild their shattered touman. Oddly for a second-line design, it relies on a Clan 300-rated XL Engine for power. The armaments are clearly meant for mid-range engagements: A LB-10X Autocannon for punch, an ER Large Laser for reach, and a Streak-SRM 6 and twin ER Medium Lasers for closer range power.

Description
The Hellhound as originally designed was somewhat different from the mech that made it to production. The original design team eventually got their first take right and managed to bring it to production as the HLH-2. Where the HLH-1 was built around a LB-10X, the HLH-2 was instead built around paired Ultra Autocannon/5s. The ER Large Laser has been dropped entirely. The Streak SRM-6 has been replaced with a SRM-4 and SRM-2, while the ER Medium Lasers were retained entirely. The HLH-2 was released to little fanfare though it found decent acceptance among the warrior caste.

Description
Eventually, Clan Nova Cat took their new Hellhound and began to iterate on the design. Among the iterations was the Hellhound HLH-6 which reimagined the mech as a fast support design. Armed with a battery of ER Medium Lasers, an ER PPC, a LRM-10, and a captured Clan Wolf ER Medium Pulse Laser, the HLH-6 proved a quiet and effective second-line design and would go on to serve the Nova Cats honorably for years to come.

Description
The Hellhound is a fast, inexpensive medium BattleMech that excels at medium to short range. As befitting its status as a second-line 'Mech, the Hellhound uses a standard engine, though it is constructed on an Endo Steel chassis and uses eight and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. When Clan Wolf went looking for a chassis to carry its new ER Medium Pulse Laser, they found the Hellhound was perfect for the job. Three ER MPLs provide core firepower, while a pair of ATM-3s provide some backup firepower.

Description
The Hellhound had a troubled birth and Clan Nova Cat went through several variants of the 'Mech before its eventual form as the HLH-1. The most successful variant leading up to the HLH-1 was eventually known as the HLH-P (P for Prototype). While the HLH-1 and HLH-2 became the primary variants, the HLH-P was successful enough that Clan Nova Cat kept it as a potential field refit kit. Armed with the same LB-10X Autocannon as the later HLH-1, the HLH-P swaps the rest of the firepower for a SRM-6 and twin ER Large Lasers. To pay for the heavier lasers, it uses a slower 250-rated XL Engine as well as the standard Endo-Steel and Ferro-Fibrous.

Description
After years of being made fun of for having eclectic loadouts, the MechWarrior behind this mech just gave up protesting and leaned into the jokes, naming her mech Trail Mix, after the popular snackfood. Trail Mix started life as a Hellhound but the loadout has changed completed. Armed with an ATM-6, a Streak LRM-10, a Clan Large Pulse Laser, twin ER Micro Lasers, and an ER Small Pulse Laser, Trail Mix really does have something for everyone.
