Description
The Mackie might be the Original BattleMechTM but that doesn't mean it doesn't see upgrades and updates from time to time. Periphery Arms, Inc. determined that the venerable Mackie was still valuable on the modern battlefield and built the -5PA to keep it competitive. Armed with a PPC and two each Heavy Rifles and Large Chem Lasers, the -5PA carries a respectable punch. The standard thick armor keeps the Mackie in the fight longer than many other mechs as well.

Description
The initial prototype Mackie was designated the MSK-5S, and carried a slightly different weapons load than the production model MSK-6S. Using an Autocannon/5 in the right arm instead of the AC/10, the MSK-5S also mounted a Large Laser in the center torso, rather than the twin Medium Lasers, and had two more heat sinks. Twenty tons of Primitive Armor protected the first generation Mackie. This armor, though heavier, provided less protection than later models.[2] The MSK-5S was used by Colonel Kincaid in his now-famous combat trial versus the Merkava tanks.

Description
Developed by the Terran Hegemony in the 25th century, the Mackie was the first true BattleMech. Based on advanced technology that the Hegemony Armed Forces (HAF) had been developing for decades under Director-General Jacob Cameron, the Mackie was the ultimate manifestation of Hegemony military might. The Mackie carries what were considered top-of-the-line weapons for its era. The primary weapons on the 'Mech are a PPC and an Autocannon/10 that both have similar range and damage profiles. For close combat, the Mackie has two Medium Lasers. The weapons systems employed on the Mackie-6S are similar to their modern counterparts, a credit to the Hegemony's technology.

Description
Developed by the Terran Hegemony in the 25th century, the Mackie was the first true BattleMech. The Mackie was the pinnacle of the Hegemony's military might, the representation of their power and the hand of the Cameron's on the battlefield. The -7A is a predecessor to the Hegemony's pride, the -9H. It carries a similar weapon load out, the main difference being that it drops 1 PPC, the Medium Lasers, and the Active Probe for a pair of side torso mounted Large Lasers. Otherwise, it carries the AC/20 and PPC of the later -9H as well as that mech's prodigious armor.

Description
The Mackie was the pride of the Terran Hegemony and the sign of their power, so it is fitting that it accompanied the Hegemony corporations that would become the Sanctuary Worlds on their great journey. Their inherent Terran pride never dimmed and they maintained the Mackie out of pride. The MSK-7B became the new stock standard design, armed with a Double-Barrel AC/20, a NPC, and twin Large Electro-Lasers for maximum punch. Thick armor kept the mech operational in all circumstances while plenty of DHS and ammo kept the guns running. The -7B went on to spawn many variants and led a storied history in the Sanctuary Worlds.

Description
While the Mackie-6S was made with relatively primitive components because they were all that existed back then, the -7S is not. It is made with primitive components to save on costs for cheap Periphery buyers who can't afford anything better. The Mackie's ancient but rugged frame proved durable and easy to repair, pros for cash-strapped buyers. This variant, the -7S, carries a simple weapon payload: a PPC and 2 Medium Lasers provide ammo-free firepower while a pair of Heavy Rifles provide the heavy punch and are simple plug-and-go components.

Description
The Mackie was the pride of the Terran Hegemony and the sign of their power, so it is fitting that it accompanied the Hegemony corporations that would become the Sanctuary Worlds on their great journey. Their inherent Terran pride never dimmed and they maintained the Mackie out of pride. The MSK-8A is one of the many variants of the Mackie in the Sanctuary Worlds. Armed with a Scattergun/20 and twin NPCs as well as two Twin-Linked Small Lasers, the -8A is a powerful assault design. Its Active Probe and ECM Suite provide e-war capability while 18 DHS keep it frosty.

Description
Developed by the Terran Hegemony in the 25th century, the Mackie was the first true BattleMech. The Mackie was the pinnacle of the Hegemony's military might, the representation of their power and the hand of the Cameron's on the battlefield. The -8B is a predecessor to the Hegemony's pride, the -9H, but remains a potent war machine. Carrying the maximum armor possible and carrying the same weapon load as the -9H, the -8B differs only in the lack of the advanced Beagle Active Probe that the -9H carries.

Description
Crafted at the same time as the -10J, the -9F takes a somewhat different twist on the Mackie: missile support. The aged chassis was found to be a surprisingly stable and effective LRM support platform. A pair of LRM-15s, mated to an Artemis IV system, provide the primary punch. A pair of ER Large Lasers are direct-fire backup and the traditional Medium Lasers remain in place. Like the -10J, an Active Probe and ECM provide some electronic warfare potential. Unlike the -10J though, the -9F does not have any jump jets.

Description
Developed by the Terran Hegemony in the 25th century, the Mackie was the first true BattleMech. The Mackie-9H was the pinnacle of the Hegemony's military might, the representation of their power and the hand of the Cameron's on the battlefield. The -9H carried a pair of PPCs for long range combat with an AC/20 and two Medium Lasers for closer range engagements and was protected by incredibly thick armor. Though the Mackie has since been outclassed, it remains a powerful war machine and is worth respecting on the battlefield.

Description
Originally in service to the Terran Hegemony, this Mackie was lost for centuries before being found and painstakingly restored by the Count of Odessa, Count Nicholas Fisk. After Fisk's duplicitous behavior towards the Snord's Irregulars and his capture by Archer Christifori and the aid of the mercenary unit Johann's Jaegers, this Mackie was turned over to the Jaegers as payment for services rendered. This Mackie, one of the last confirmed in service to a Great House, has been customized with a Command Console and a Gauss Rifle, making it a potent command mech.

Description
Someone's been having some fun with this one. What started life as a stock Mackie MSK-9H has received a full ground-up rebuild with cutting edge technology based on both Clan and IS think tank technologies. Essentially, this Mackie has been rebuilt with omni technology, giving it incredible versatility. The only fixed gear, other than the engine and the 12 double heat sinks, is a pair of ER Medium Lasers. The other 42 tons has been spent on a pair of Gauss Rifles, backed up by a LRM-20. A solitary ER Small Laser rounds out the armament.

Description
The Mackie MSK-9P saw its first production in the Taurian Concordat as a cheap Assault mech for other minor powers that, through its immense single attack power, could overhwhelm any other assault mech it encountered with one single salvo. Using the barest minimum of 'modern' technology, the 9P uses paired PPC's in place of the AC/20 found in the original 9H, maintaining the damage at the cost of higher heat. The left arm is replaced by a huge rocket launcher that originally saw its turret designed for use on tanks but was redesigned to fit the mackies side torso. The centre torso features two machine guns added under slung to the Medium Lasers to allow the pilot the barest chance against modern infantry. In order to make the most of what minor powers had, the Mackie MSK-9P is clad in a heavy coating of Heavy Plating Armor to boost its defence, with a cheap and easy to maintain Fuel Cell engine occupying the remaining weight.

Description
Designed as a thought experiment by a bored designer, the MSK-10J became a reality in the Periphery as technology proliferated through the Inner Sphere in the wake of the Helm Core's discovery. The Mackie's frame proved capable of a refresh and update and modern mech manufacturers enjoyed the callback to the earliest days of the BattleMech. The MSK-10J carries a similar load out to its predecessors: a pair of Medium Lasers and a pair of PPCs are backed by a modern LB-10X Autocannon. An Active Probe and Guardian ECM keep it safe while an unusual inclusion of 3 assault-class jump jets give the -10J unexpected mobility.

Description
After the MSK-10J brought the Mackie back into production in the Periphery, the Inner Sphere took note of the ancient design and updated it for their own use. Skobel MechWorks turned out a few variants, including this, the -11R. Intended as a stand-off ranged design, the -11R carries a massive Gauss Rifle and a pair of ER PPCs for primary armament. For backup, it has the Mackie's traditional paired Medium Lasers. For defense, the Mackie's prodigious armor remains as well as an Active Probe and a Guardian ECM suite.

Description
A sort of fork of the Mackie-10J and -9F, the -12S turns to an older but proven weapon system to provide long range fire support on an ancient but stable and proven platform: the Sniper Artillery. Armed with the massive artillery piece, the -12S is capable of laying down supporting fire at virtually any range. For mid-range defense, the -12S uses a pair of Large Pulse Lasers while the ubiquitous Mediums keep close-ranges clear. The Sniper is fed by 4 tons of ammunition and kept cold by 15 double heat sinks. The -12S found widespread acceptance among militia forces that really needed mobile artillery.

Description
A rare mercenary upgrade of the Mackie MSK-12S, the -MKD (named for its creator) takes the -12S to a new level, dropping all the secondary weaponry and upgrading to an XL Engine in exchange for a second Sniper Artillery. The only backup weapon, such as it is, is a solitary MML9.
