v18.3 (aka the "Time For Bugfixing" patch) has been released to the installer. This patch is mostly a bugfixing and station keeping patch, but it's still useful to get out there.

MODTEK UPDATE: ModTek has been updated again. This update brings with it more stability and performance increases. Good times!

***CRITICAL NOTE***: Be absolutely certain you manually delete your Mods folder when you perform this update! ModTek can be very picky about its updating, please be absolutely sure you clear your Mods folder manually when you perform this update.

NEW MECH!!: It's been awhile, hasn't it? Glad to have another new chassis to enjoy. The Slowpoke, a 10-ton Capellan ultralight BattleMech, has slowly sauntered into combat. You can find it in Capellan forces and for sale at the factory on the planet Cynthiana/Liao.

LOST IN SPACE UPDATED: This little-known BTA submod helps us hide planets from prying eyes before they should be accessible. Unfortunately, in 18.2 it broke and showed planets before they should have been available for travel. We've now fixed that issue. Whoopsie!

WARTECH IIC UPDATED: This update should fix the known bugs with Extended Contracts. Hurrah! Glad to get that fixed, those bugs were annoying me!

vMRMS NOW HAVE AN FCS: Variable MRMs (vMRMs) now can use the LRM FCS. Enjoy your even more accurate vMRMs on damage mode!

EVENT PILOT UPDATE: The BTA team pilots in BTA Calling are now immune to headshots, no cheesing us to death anymore. Kommander Kringle and the Johann's Jaeger's pilots are also all immune to headshots too. Oh, and the Gameworld Gladiator in gameworld duels is also headshot immune. He's a masterful pilot, better than any of yours, he should remain a threat. Bring other tactics to the gameworld duels other than headshot cheesing.

HANSEATIC CRUSADE IS FIXED. AGAIN.: Somehow, my fixes to the Hanseatic Crusade events got reverted at some point but now they're really, truly, actually fixed. Hurrah! No more random surviving Hanse planets.

NERFED CALLED SHOT AGAIN: The pilot traits that improve Called Shots have been reduced in power by quite a bit. This will almost certainly not apply to existing pilots who already have the trait but all new pilots will be receiving the new, weaker, called shot buffs (instead of giving a CalledShotBonusMultiplier of 1.4 and 1.5 respectively, the pilot traits now give 1.2 and 1.3 respectively).

STRATOPS UPDATE: StrategicOperations, a BTA submod that includes a ton of stuff like BA swarming and airlifting units and a buncha other stuff to boot, has been updated. This update improves AI think time by a fairly dramatic amount. You'll see AI performance improve significantly in combat. This update *is* slightly experimental, so if you see issues with it such as unusual numbers of AI freezes or crashes, please let us know (we don't anticipate any of these but should they come up, let us know ASAP).

ULTRALIGHTS UPDATED: The Stiletto has gained a new, much more powerful, quirk instead of its old quirk, the Ultralight quirk (combines easy to maintain, +evasion, +defense, +walk speed, and +jump distance; they're ultralights they need the help). The Ultralight Fleas also got this quirk instead of the normal Flea quirk.

EXTENDED CONTRACT ADJUSTMENTS: ECs have been lightly adjusted. Pirate Raids give a little less salvage, Field Testing gives a bit more salvage and a bit less cash, and ECs generally tell you who you're fighting a little better now.

ADDED JWTWEAKS: This is a minor submod from Jamie Wolf that improves save file serialization, making save files smaller and faster to access. One important note though: you'll need the newest release of the BT Save Editor to interact with these new save files, the old save editor won't interface with them due to their new structure. I've spoken to Jamie and he's released the new save editor into the wild, you can get it here: https://discourse.modsinexile.com/t/battletech-save-editor/710

  • iMMLs no longer can indirect fire ATMs, that was a bug.
  • Ettin event's "bad ending" is no longer a permanent penalty to MechTech.
  • Quentin no longer sells the Hatchetman (that was a bug left over from older times).
  • FLE-14 got some extra hardpoints.
  • Shanky's shank works properly now.
  • The Mackie, Imp, and Assassin's selection circles around their feet now are a more reasonable size for the mechs.
  • TisButAScratch updated the dll for performance gains.
  • Duan Gung has been resized to be slightly smaller.
  • Clarified HEAP ammo descriptions.
  • Buncha typos and minor bugs were fixed.

IMPORTANT: v18.3 is an "update" update. In this case, clear your Mods folder manually and then run the installer, it'll do the work for you.

IMPORTANT: v18.3 is not a save breaking update, your saves are compatible and will work fine.
