Description

The Naga II's story is the story of the Woodsman, an early Clan Wolf OmniMech that had two development paths. One led to the Timber Wolf and the other was largely a failure that eventually led to the Naga, an artillery-focused OmniMech with extensive limitations. However, the ever-pragmatic Wolves found uses for the original failed Woodsman prototypes and reworked it as the Naga II. The Naga II shares the Naga I's 400-rated XL engine, Endo-Steel frame, and poor armor but drops the heavy artillery weapons for a more direct-fire payload. The A configuration uses a LB-20X for primary firepower while a pair of ER Large Lasers provide reach. A Streak SRM-6 and ER Small Laser play second-fiddle.

The B configuration is a pure missile config, using four LRM-20s for all of the design's firepower. A Narc and AMS back up the LRMs, though they hardly seem necessary.

The C configuration is an all-range config, using a LRM-15, UAC/5, Large Pulse Laser, Streak SRM-6, two Medium Pulse Lasers, and a quartet of Machine Guns, ensuring it is effective in all situations.

The H configuration is a more recent config, made out of desperation for war material in the wake of Operation Revival. The H configuration uses a Gauss Rifle and LRM-20 for ranged combat while a Heavy Large Laser, twin Heavy Medium Lasers, and a Heavy Small Laser slice apart any enemy foolish enough to approach.

The Prime configuration uses a LB-10X and Ultra AC/10 for primary firepower while a LRM-20 provides reach. An ER Small Laser is the sole concession to ammoless firepower.
